Grandma’s Prayers
April has always brought me so much joy. It was a reminder that school was almost out when I was younger, the cold weather in the Midwest had the potential of seeing fewer days. Be cautious there could be snow in April never know. Most importantly my birthday is this month! A couple of years ago I decided to really celebrate each year. So many people don’t make it and life is to be enjoyed. I also share my birthday month with my Grandma, three days apart to be exact. It was our special connection, with 20 grandchildren and 15 great grands this was our special connection. Our birthdays and conversations was our special bond not to be shared with anyone but us.
Girl, Take That Nap!
If there was one thing for certain growing up it was that our family would ALWAYS have something to do. There was no such thing as “sleeping in.” School was all week, cleaning was on Saturday, church on Sunday. Somewhere in there were family functions and more church services to attend. It’s safe to say the foundation of my life was a whole lot of ripping and running as my father says, “We can’t let grass grow under our feet!” I carried out this way of living through much of my adulthood. It left me feeling very anxious, tired and completely drained coming face to face with burnout on several occasions.
A Year in Review…Pandemic Style!
I literally can not believe we have been dealing with this pandemic for a year now. I felt it was only right to share my year with you, here we go!
March 12th 2020, was the last day I wore a full face of make-up, commute to work, or be in a office. A week or two into working from home, I set up my home office by the way it has changed so much since March. My life turned into scheduled out grocery store runs talk about a new way of life.
What Excuse?
If you are like me, you may or may not be familiar with the story of Moses. His life story lends to one full of disappointment, hurt and rejection. After an order was made by the Egyptian ruler Pharaoh to kill all Hebrew boys. Moses’ mother hid him and sent him down the Nile river. Being seen, adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter, Moses lived a royal life. Years later Moses escapes has an encounter with an angel of God who speaks to him to demand the Israelites to be released from slavery.
