Girl, Create The Wave!
“We don’t ride the wave we create it, that’s how we made it to Beyonce’s playlist. I’m about to be on a first name basis with Beyonce!”
We live in a society where copy cat mentalities, bandwagon groupies and crowds seem to be the going thing now. It is a constant peering over at another person’s paper to see how we can do what they do the same way. Instead of us focusing on what we have inside to create what is needed for the world. Or in this case, how we can stop riding the wave, but Create Your Wave.
Celebrating the Small Wins!
You deserve a moment to celebrate your wins. You deserve a moment or two to reflect on your own personal growth. You have neglected you long enough. In the words of Mama Dee, “I deserve!”
My point is don’t ever overlook what you have already done. Believe, trust, and don’t compare your progress with those around you. Just in case you need someone to cheer you on, “You Got this Girl!”
The Power of the Pass
Bishop Jakes’ speaks simply, “You Are Enough” those words feel as the freshest water to a very parched soul. In a world when being enough seems like it isn’t enough, in a world where we are constantly fighting to feel like we are enough. I would like to imagine maybe the world stood still as Sarah Jakes Roberts hears these words from God’s heart to her father’s lips carried right to her heart filling her up where she is never lacking.
Sheryl & Quinta, Thank You
The win showcased what it meant to continue to do what you love. The win showcased what it means to take up space, be in that space, never apologize ever! The win reminded a black girl, a black woman to keep believing. The win sparked joy in the hearts of a few of us, it sparked the joy in the hearts of the little girls within. It was a breath of fresh air in a world where it is often so difficult to breath and see joy.
