Sheryl & Quinta, Thank You
The win showcased what it meant to continue to do what you love. The win showcased what it means to take up space, be in that space, never apologize ever! The win reminded a black girl, a black woman to keep believing. The win sparked joy in the hearts of a few of us, it sparked the joy in the hearts of the little girls within. It was a breath of fresh air in a world where it is often so difficult to breath and see joy.
Hey, Girl! Welcome Back
Don’t let others make you feel you are behind or need to hurry to hit these life goals based on society’s standards. Choose not to subscribe to the gloom and doom of the world. Find you some peace and pockets of grace and joy. When given the option to shrink, shy away from what you were purposed to do in this life, DON’T! Take a time out, get some water, catch your breath and try it again.
I Ain’t Code Switching No Mo’
It reminded me of what I heard comedian Deon Cole said, “Don’t you code switch another day!” Right in that moment I literally said, “You right!” His point being don’t you shrink yourself to fit into these spaces that you really don’t want to be in. Don’t shrink and change who you are so that others are comfortable with your presence.

From time to time she would dose off but know if I tapped her she would tell me..I heard every single word.
