MAFS Weekly Recap - Episode 9
I wish I could tell you that Married At First Sight, (MAFS) didn’t have me in a chokehold each week but I would be lying. With every new season I am in high anticipation of these couples measuring up to my favorite season, New Orleans, Woody & Amani to be exact.
I’m The Choice, Not the Option
After several years of what I thought would be a happy ending only turned out to be the worse and best experience of my life. Many encounters I experienced were proving that I never the choice only an option. I took the pain my heart and mind were enduring as a badge of honor. Hoping my ability to take so much would change me from being the option to the choice. Let me tell you it didn’t. At. All.
I’m Black All Year!
My black isn’t selecting me to be the token person to speak on your Diversity & Inclusion panel so that your next client will see that your company or team is woke enough not to be cancelled. If you haven’t figured it out by now ya’ girl is unapologetically Pro-BLACK! For those who may be unclear of what this means, I love being black and all of my blackness. No dislike of those who aren’t black.
It’s A Selfish Kinda Year! Signed, Me
It is possible for two things can exist at the same time. While on one hand I can be the person who does show up for you, I can also be the person who acknowledges when I need a break to recharge & refuel. I can remind those I love, “Today, I just don’t have it.” “I need a time-out.” This gives me a moment to rest my heart and mind.
